She’s the First is shaking Social Media Week up with a talk show style event and you’re invited to join our live studio audience! Tweet in your questions using #SMWmagic and walk away with solid techniques and tips for creating your own social media magic.
Mashable’s (@mashable) managing editor Emily Banks will introduce four dynamic guests—Tammy Tibbetts, She’s the First (@shesthefirst) Founder and President; Adam Braun, Pencils of Promise (@pencilsofpromis) Founder and Executive Director; Mike Radparvar, Co-Founder of HOLSTEE (@HOLSTEE); Susan McPherson (@susanmcp1) of Fenton Communications—who will each share little-known stories on how ONE social media status update created a spark or started a ripple effect that ultimately launched huge movements and programs, changed lives, and achieved meaningful social change.
In addition to our fun and forward-thinking panel, we’ll have a live DJ, tie-dye cupcakes, and awesome surprises throughout the event! She’s the First will also launch its Instagram page with a photo competition.
The event will be introduced by international fashion icon Alek Wek (@TheRealAlekWek), the legendary Sudanese supermodel who recently turned to Twitter and Skype to be a stronger advocate for the famished in Africa.
